Massage Techniques Offered

Deep Tissue: By applying sustained pressure with slow, deep strokes, Deep Tissue therapy is ideal for treating even the most stubborn, chronic injuries. This technique addresses taut muscle tissue and adhesions—painful fibrous tissue bands and scar tissue that form between muscles, tendons, and ligaments—that can hinder circulation, cause pain, and limit movement. By breaking down these adhesions, deep tissue massage helps relieve pain and restore normal movement. Unlike classic massage, which aims for relaxation, deep tissue massage concentrates on resolving specific problems like fibromyalgia, migraines, TMJ, stiff neck and back, plantar fasciitis, sports injuries, and muscle spasms.

Kametz Method (Scar Tissue Scraping): A technique developed by Angel Kametz, the Kametz Method is a therapy designed to target scar tissue breakdown and promote proper muscle fiber alignment and function. Throughout our daily lives, scar tissue forms as a normal bodily response to muscle overuse, micro-fiber tearing, surgery, and acute injury. As this scar tissue forms and grows, it tends to linger, crowding in on muscle, nerve, and joint locations, hindering proper musculoskeletal function and causing nerve impingements. Using deep repetitive, deliberate strokes, this method has been beneficial to alleviate the symptoms of sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, joint strain, tennis/golfers elbow, shoulder impingement, stiff neck and back, numbness, nerve pain, and rib subluxations.

Lymphatic Drainage: The Lymphatic System is essential for immune function, balancing bodily fluids, and protecting against infections by draining excess lymph fluid from tissues. If it becomes blocked or malfunctions, excess fluid can accumulate in the tissues. Lymphatic massage is a light touch modality aimed to encourage proper lymphatic circulation to prevent and treat these blockages and fluid buildup. This modality is ideal for people with lymphedema, water retention, injury swelling, post-surgery recovery, and promotes healthy-looking skin and detoxification.

Swedish: Swedish massage therapy is a widely practiced form of therapeutic massage that focuses on muscle relaxation and improved blood circulation by targeting superficial muscles. Using a variety of techniques and pressures, Swedish massage is effective in pain management, reducing stress and muscle tension, enhancing flexibility, and increasing energy levels. Additionally, it supports better posture, boosts immunity, improves sleep quality, and alleviates tension headaches. Regular sessions are essential for promoting both physical and emotional well-being.

Craniosacral Therapy: Craniosacral therapy (CST) is a gentle, noninvasive treatment that works by placing hands on the head and spine, vertebrae by vertebrae, promoting cerebrospinal fluid flow. Disruption of this flow can lead to symptoms such as stiff spine, headaches, migraines, anxiety, chronic neck and back pain. This therapy promotes self-regulation, self-correction, and self-healing by addressing the interconnectedness of bodily systems. CST may be effective for managing symptoms caused by fibromyalgia, migraines, autism, scoliosis, and other conditions. It should complement other medical treatments as recommended by a healthcare provider. While beneficial for many, CST may not be suitable for individuals with certain conditions, such as blood clots or recent brain/spinal injuries.

Pre-Natal: Pre-natal massage is a nurturing massage for expecting mothers while going through pregnancy. With the use of pillows and positioning, your massage therapist will be sure to make your experience comfortable and relaxing while enjoying the same benefits you’d receive from a light to medium pressure Swedish massage session. Massage is perfectly safe with the right practitioner and recommended during weeks 13-36. As you go through pregnancy, you may experience water retention, mood shifts, and body aches and pains that can be relieved with a Pre-natal session.

Sports Massage: Originally designed to enhance athletic performance, sports massage is now increasingly recognized for its effectiveness in treating sport-related injuries and improving range of motion for individuals of all ages and fitness levels. This type of massage focuses on specific trouble spots, such as shoulder soreness from golfing or a tender hamstring before a race, and helps minimize pain, speed recovery, and optimize performance. There are four variations of sports massage: pre-event, which invigorates muscles before an event; post-event, which aids recovery after intense exertion; restorative, which maintains peak performance during training; and rehabilitative, which targets specific injuries to enhance recovery. Choosing the appropriate type depends on the client's discomfort level and upcoming athletic activities. Overall, sports massage is a valuable tool for anyone looking to enhance their physical performance and address sports-related issues.

Reflexology: Reflexology is a massage technique that applies varying pressure to the feet, hands, and ears, based on the belief that these areas correspond to specific organs and body systems. Practiced by reflexologists, this method is rooted in the idea that stimulating these points can promote pain relief, reduce stress, and improve overall well-being by facilitating the flow of "qi," or vital energy, throughout the body. Various theories, including the connection between nerves and internal organs, suggest that reflexology may calm the central nervous system and help alleviate both physical and emotional pain. While scientific evidence is limited, potential benefits reported by users include reduced stress and anxiety, improved mood, enhanced immune function, sinus congestion relief, boosted immune system and fertility, digestive issues, and insomnia.
